چکیده

Methods Consecutive patients with moderate or severe AS (aortic valve area <1.5cm), normal coronary arteries and no other significant valve lesion or cardiomyopathy were scanned by 1.5T magnetic resonance and compared with contemporary ageand sex-matched healthy, control subjects. The extent and patterns of hypertrophy were assessed from volumetric cine images. Valve severity was assessed by planimetry and velocity mapping. Asymmetric forms of remodelling and hypertrophy were defined as having a septal-to-lateral wall thickness ratio >1.5.

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...

Differentiation of athlete's heart from pathological forms of cardiac hypertrophy by means of geometric indices derived from cardiovascular magnetic resonance.

PURPOSE Determination of the underlying etiology of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is a common, challenging, and critical clinical problem. The authors aimed to test whether pathological LVH, such as occurs in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), hypertensive heart disease, or aortic stenosis, and physiological LVH in athletes, can be distinguished by means of left ventricular volume and geom...

Cardiac magnetic resonance in a patient with MRI-conditional pacemaker.

An implanted pacemaker is generally considered a contraindication for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The increasing number of indications for MRI and the rising prevalence of implanted cardiac pacemakers have prompted the recent development of MRI-conditional pacemaker systems. We present the case of a 68-year-old woman with left ventricular hypertrophy, hypertension, aortic valve stenosis a...

Detection of Cardiac Hypertrophy by RVM and SVM Algorithms

The meaning of the hypertropy word is the increasing size.Heart hypertropy is symptoms of increase the thickness of the heart muscle that the left ventricular hypertrophy of them is the most common. The causes of hypertrophy heart disease are high blood pressure , aortic valve stenosis and sport activities respectively. Assessment of that by using ECG signal analysis is essential Because the ris...

Left ventricular hypertrophy in aortic stenosis: is 2-D echo reliable?

Background Progressive pressure overload to the left ventricle, which occurs with aortic stenosis(AS), is a known stimulus to left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). However, assessment of LV wall thickness with 2-D echo has failed to show a useful correlation with severity of AS. The absence of a relationship may be due to inherent limitations in 2-D echo assessment of LV wall thickness and aortic...
